Serving Meals to Patients at Bach Mai Hospital

As a member of the Chan project, I have had the opportunity to participate in many charitable and volunteer activities. On June 28th, we had our first trip to visit the An Vui Vegetarian Kitchen located near Bach Mai Hospital. Even though the event lasted only one afternoon, it left me with many memorable experiences.

Getting ready for the first group of today's customers

We helped serve free meals to the patients staying at the hospital. Here, we were hands-on in arranging and preparing vegetarian meals, receiving enthusiastic guidance from the volunteer organizers. Initially, I was a bit anxious because many people were waiting in line to receive their meals, and I was concerned it might become chaotic. However, thanks to the collective efforts in preparation and the effective management of the meal distribution process, everything unfolded seamlessly. The members's movements were nearly synchronized to fasten the pace so the patients did not have to wait for long. The meals were handed directly to the patients at Bach Mai Hospital without any issues.

Even if one meal might not seem like much, it is a major form of support for individuals who are in need. Having to pay the expensive hospital fees, to purchase a proper meal could even become a challenge for them. With every meal we distributed, we received smiles of happiness from the patients. Receiving those smiles is the greatest motivation for us to continue spreading these acts of kindness.
