In July, I became an intern at Phuong Thanh Centre for Autism Children. This period was an unprecedented experience for me, both as a student and a volunteer.

The student practiced basic skills (buttoning,...) |
Using my pre-interaction with the autistic children here, it was not too laborious for me to familiarize myself with the environment. Through weekly interaction, I steadily understood more about the children's thinking process, social interconnection, and their viewpoints about the world surrounding them. In contrast, because I was no professional, I frequently questioned in my head: "What does the world look like in their eyes?" Possibly, when I enter university, I will discover a part of the answer to this curiosity.
The teachers here explained conscientiously to me about autistic children's habits, methods to manage the class, and their daily activities at school. These guidances allowed me to assist the teacher better and develop suitable class activities for the lesson. Sometimes, the children here could misbehave, but I could not help but try my best to organize the class and take a liking to them. I have learned many valuable, unforgettable knowledge that will be a huge advantage for my future journey.
